Dating

August 16, 2011

If you think about it, there's only two ways you can go on from dating. You either break up or get married. Does that mean the ex boyfriends I had in the past were all just for fun and games? I mean, some of the couples I see now, I wonder if they would last or not because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to marry them. At least that's what I observe. But the relationships we have in high school, girls make a huge deal about it, because we long for 'forever' and for someone to love us. And sure we say "I love you" and whatnot, but do we really? Maybe in the spur of the moment in our lives but when we think about it, do we see ourselves marrying that person? Some may of course, but most don't. Some of our relationships just seem "for fun" because we like that person, or we think they are cute or hot. And they tell us all the things we want to hear, just because that's how it is. But when we find someone we like, and spend time with each other and get to know one another and fall for each other in a romantic and spiritual way, we should ask ourselves, do I really see myself marrying that person? Because if not, then I'm wasting my time as well as theirs, because there is probably someone out there who would do anything to marry you because you are the right person for them. So when I see young couples claiming they are in love, I believe them. Because I know how it feels and if you say you are, so be it. However, I wait until I see how long they've last with the relationship and if it turns out they are still together and going pretty strong then that's great. But if they end up breaking up, I'm glad they understand now that what they had wasn't the real thing and that they've understand better and experienced the truth. Now they can continue with life and learn from experience of what real love is, that way when the time comes, and they meet someone new, they'll know if they are the one or not. It's true though, there are only two options in a relationship. Break up or marry them. It just takes someone to go through a couple of fish in the sea to catch the right one.
