500 Days of Summer

February 28, 2010

So last night, I saw (500) days of summer.. and pretty much, it was amazing. One of those movies that portray love as it really is. I fell in love, and my life actually makes sense now. Might sound stupid - but that's how I feel. The two main characters made me jealous of the relationship they had, but at the same time.. I felt bad. Tom and Summer both really like each other - except Tom LOVES Summer and Summer.. considers him as a friend. It sucks, right? But in the ending, Summer gets married and Tom is left a lone, confused and needs answers. He then understands that everything is meant to be, and that it's all 'coincidence'. At the ending of the movie, he meets a girl who is there for the same reason as him - getting interviewed for the same job. She tells him that she's seen him before, which is at his favorite place. He realized that he hasn't been open to other people, and that he's been obsessing over that one person, which closed his opportunity of meeting other people. As he leaves to go get interviewed, he offers the girl to have coffee, which she refuses since she's busy, however she backed out and said yes. When he went to shake her hands, he told her his name, and she told him hers.

"Hi, I'm tom."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Autumn."

Now, tell me that isn't 'coincidence'? I think not, I guess he then realized that it's never too late to start fresh and this time.. take things slow. Which to where he smiled at the camera, indicating that same day, was his first day of his relationship with Autumn.
(500) Days of Autumn anyone? :)
