On January 12th 2010, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti, killing over 100,000 people. It's shocking, sad and heart broken to know that this has happened to such a small country. Many people today are doing whatever it takes to help them, by donating money towards Hope for Haiti and other organizations. Before I start talking about the economic solution to help Haiti, I'm going to talk about people who are negative towards the situation. There are a few people out there, who are very ignorant and careless. There's this myth about Haiti making a deal with the devil about getting rid of the French. Since they made this "deal", Haiti is now suffering because of this compromise. However, they are people who are not donating and contributing to help Haiti, because of this myth, which I can't say is true or not, because I am a strong believer that it is absolute nonsense, but some people have their own beliefs. In this case, I personally think it's a sad and poor excuse to not donate. If you want to be ignorant and not donate, than don't blame it on a stupid excuse. It's sad and disgusting to know that people don't have a heart. If I was older and had enough money, I would do anything to help those poor unfortunate souls. They are humans, just like us. We live in this country where we've got everything we need, want or have. Yet, we complain about it. It's plain ignorance like I stated. All we have to do is donate and do every little thing we can. One penny makes a difference, maybe not for us but for the people in Haiti. They need us more than we need ourselves. Everything can change in a blink of an eye, but it's up to us to make that happen.
